A widget is a single saved AftersellQL query rendered as a visualization on a report. A report is simply a grid of widgets.
A “widget” here means a widget on a Report. It is not the same as the shopper-facing checkout widgets or post-purchase widgets, which are upsell offers shown to your customers.

Adding a widget

There are two ways to add a widget to a report:
  • Drag an existing widget from the Widgets sidebar. While editing a report (click Edit report — see Manage reports), drag an already-created widget from the Widgets sidebar onto the canvas.
  • Click Add widget from the report. From the report’s main view, click Add widget to build a new query in the Explorer and add it to the report. Once saved, your widget will be added directly to the Report canvas.

Visualizations

Depending on the query’s shape, a widget renders as one of:
  • Scorecard — a single headline number, for queries with no breakdown.
  • Line chart — a trend over time.
  • Bar chart — a comparison across a dimension.
  • Table — rows of values, for detailed or multi-dimension queries.
The Explorer recommends a default visualization for each query, and the widget uses it.

Arranging widgets

In edit mode you can drag widgets to reorder them and resize them on the grid. When you are done, click Save to keep your layout, or Cancel to discard your changes.
